The following were taken on the Quad at Truman State. It was one of those "wander around and if anything looks interesting, take a picture" days.
Squirrels are one of those creatures where, if you're careful, you can get close enough to watch their antics. This one had their eye on me.
I did not do anything to this photo except crop it. Those eyes are demonic all on their own.
That's better. Still looks a little riled up though. It seems to be saying, "Why are you still following me?! What did I ever do to you?!"
I'm sure the damn thing would've attacked if I kept on taking pictures.
In August of 2007, I visited friends in Colorado. One day was spent at Mt. Evans, which measures some 14,000+ feet. I had never been to the mountains before, and it certainly puts one in their place; a lot of things seem very insignificant in such surroundings.
The goats were wandering about, in some cases intermingling with the tourists, but for the most part, they were wryly studying us, while we simply gawked at them. The marmots even more so. But everyone politely posed, and for that I'm grateful.
I am by no means declaring that I'm ready for National Geographic. They've nothing to worry about, believe me. Sometimes the hunt for shots like these are infinitely more fun than the end results.
