Work in progress ...

I'm presenting poster options to the Grant Wood Art Festival next week. It's the 40th annual, so it's kind of a big deal. I see a couple things I need to fix with this, like evening out the tones in the photos, and some minor text issues, but the overall layout is good.

I took inspiration from some WPA posters from the 1930s. I should dig through the several pounds of magazines I have from that period as well to see if I can break the grid I currently have, to evoke that time even more.

I should explain. Grant Wood founded the Stone City Art Colony in 1932. It ran the summer of that year, and in 1933. The festival honors him, the Colony, and all artistic endeavors in the Midwest.

Ok, time to dig through my boxes and find those magazines ...
