Yeah, let's run this by legal ...

I came across an article I saved several months back. When I first saw it, I became curious as to whether one should try to place King Lear in a modern setting or let it be. I've seen where other Shakespearean works were placed in Stalinist settings, so the question begs is Lear perfect as is?

I'm by no means a scholar when it comes to Shakespeare. I've the Kenneth Branaugh version of Hamlet on DVD ... Amazing. I've watched it at least six times. Among the biggest treats: Charlton Heston as the Player King; always the commanding presence, and even more so here, if that's possible. And at the same time his scenes with Rosemary Harris as the Player Queen are touching and gentle.

But I digress. My thought process on Lear was to make him a media king; the article referenced a line from Lear, thus the springboard for this. There are few remaining media moguls left who are synonymous with their holdings. At the risk of being partisan, and without naming names, I created this show logo ...
