Anamosa Architecture

Some older towns have a square, with the courthouse in the center. Anamosa simply has a "main" street. Some of the older structures have given way over the years, some have seen revitalization, some are waiting for their next chapter ...

Part of the main drag, north side. It's a shame the transom windows are covered.

Spectacular cornices!

I love this building. The main entrance is at an angle (left), which I'm guessing
is not original because of the tin ceiling above the overhang (right).

More details from the above building. Interesting "beehive" ornaments (left),
and graceful curves frame the transom windows (right).

Ok, this one is off the main drag. but interesting nonetheless.
Check out those horizontal lines!
