After settling on an antique Christmas postcard look, I found a stock image of a single ornament hanging from the tree. Originally in black and white, I added a sepia finish, plus red and green for the descriptive text.
"Festival of Trees" is done with a typeface called "Christmas Card," with a bit of a shadow for depth. It's very similar to some old Christmas postcards I've seen, and it's not too ornate that you can't read anything, which would defeat the purpose.
Well, there's about half a foot of snow on the ground right now ... Yep, it's time to go play! Woo-hoo!
