Lunch & Learn

Lunch & Learn, part of the New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music exhibit in the spring of 2009, focused on local artists and regional music. There were lectures from a professor, a student of music; bluegrass singer Rhonda Vincent's mother, who consulted on the soundtrack of Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?; with the last touching on Civil War songs. Every speaker was interesting, each bringing to light an interesting piece of art and culture.

down at the second session of the 2009 Lunch & Learn. There are a few more tables
off to the left, and we added even more for the last two weeks!

Close to a full house the first session, the crowd grew each succeeding week. It was quite the logistical dance to fit everyone in with an exhibit taking up two-thirds of the room.

Although I started with the poster for this year's series, it was the tickets (above) I finished first, and they ended up determining the final arrangement of the poster.

I liked the way the picture abutted the Lunch & Learn logo on the tickets, so I switched how I had the text and pictures on the poster, to give it uniformity. (However, it does take away from the exclamation point effect of the L&L and KAC logos.)
