Unlike last year, the fall foliage in this area has been pretty darn good. This, coupled with a bit of dry spell making the nearby river smooth as a millpond, has produced some interesting photos.
Some very neat reflections here. Top left: The fall colors took on a deeper hue when reflected.
Top right: I like the contrast of the reflection and the colorful growth along the side of the road.
At first glance it could be a mirror image, but a closer look proves otherwise. Bottom left: I flipped
this image to make the tree right-side up. It looks like a very humid day. Bottom right: Same tree, the
next day, several hours earlier. I like the submerged tree truck bisecting the reflection.
We had a small sweet corn patch this summer. On a particularly interesting cloudy day, I took the
photo on the left. But it was too ... something. I made it black and white (center), but the sepia tone
on the right is the clear winner.
Studies in yellow and blue. Not a cloud in the sky. Usually I don't like that, but the stark contrasts here really work.
Jeweltones. The sun shining through the colored leaves give them a stained glass look.
Two halves of a whole? Not really. Same tree, different angle, but this would look
really neat in a double frame.
A couple vibrantly random shots.
I really enjoy getting shots of images that look as if two have been spliced together.
There may be more to come. I've some of a foggy day bordering on the surreal.
