When I got the call to do this year’s Membership Mixer
flyer, I stressed the importance of not using any of my photos for the brochure
that goes with it in the packet that gets mailed out. However, as the deadline
neared, I was asked to submit several photos to choose from. Neat as it is, I
realize the importance to get other mediums represented other than my pretty
pictures, like painting, sculpture, etc.
But, I do love the white peony photo. I really enjoyed
taking extreme close-ups of peonies last summer, and I may give it a bit of a
twist this year; I’m still working out some logistics.
If you’re familiar with the
Kirksville Arts
Center, the photo of the
sign is taken from the south side of the building looking west northwest. The other
images, arranged horizontally, could be construed as the three floors of the
building. Yeah ... That's a little too abstract, even for me.
